Question by Doug: Does anyone know of a good children sponsorship program that is Christian based?

My wife and I are looking for a charity to help with, we are wanting to sponsor a child, but unfortunately due to all the scams there are, we were wondering if anyone had good suggestions and warnings also. We were looking for children in the U.S. preferably but child if fine with us.
