Question by nathan f: How does someone become a paid responder on Yahoo politics?

Supposedly up to 40% of the total and almost all "top contributor" responders on Yahoo politics are paid to give answers. Who pays them and how do you get the job?

You get top contributor when your % of best answers crosses a threshold. At times, I've gotten it for different categories, and I'm not paid anything.
